Adipex (phentermine) is an anti-obesity agent specially designed for people that need to lose excessive weight in order to reduce the risk of developing other conditions – such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes. This drug is intended for patients older than 16 and is not supposed to be taken by anyone younger than that without previously consulting a qualified health care professional. Adipex works by affecting certain brain areas responsible for food cravings experienced. Therefore, this medicine is not going to burn your fat, rather than make it possible for you to lose weight without suffering psychologically. Always make sure you take as much of Adipex as recommended by your health care provider to avoid an overdose. The following symptoms may indicate an overdose and need to be reported straight to your local emergency center: nausea, aggressiveness, vomiting, tremors, confusion, diarrhea, confusion, hallucinations, stomach pain, seizure, or irregular heartbeat. Adipex is not supposed to be combined with MAO inhibitor to avoid dangerous interactions. In fact, at least 14 days are supposed to pass before you can safely take Adipex after a dose of MAO inhibitor, or vice versa. If you are not sure whether the drugs you take are MAO inhibitors, talk to your pharmacist or your doctor to learn more.
